The Crescent Nebula

The Crescent Nebula is an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus sitting about 5,000 light years away from earth. The nebula is 25 light years wide and is formed by the central star that pushes hydrogen and oxygen atoms outward. 357 exposures make up this image for a total of 18 hours of integration.
